Caramelized Spiced Pear Jam



3 Cups peeled, cored and cut up pears
1 Cup Brown Sugar
2 Tablespoons Lemon Juice
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon ground cloves

Mix all ingredients in a medium sauce pan and bring to boil over medium heat. Allow to simmer, stirring occasionally for 1 1/2 hours or until pears are soft and mixture is thickened. Ladle mixture into a hot pint jar and top with a canning lid and ring. Process in a boiling water bath for 5 minutes. This is delicious on pancakes and waffles.
